PROJECT DETAILS:
This project created an opportunity for a collaboration over the Internet between artists in the Europe and in Thailand. All the artists used the Internet to form a collective through this virtual twinning project.
The project Translation involved the creative interpretation of random words. Each day a randomly generated word was given as inspiration to the artists to produce a creative interpretation. The documentation of the work is displayed on the project blog www.arttourist.surfacearts.co.uk www.arttouristthai.surfacearts.co.uk. The project highlights another way to transcend cultural boundaries by using the Internet.
This work was as part of the International exhibition ‘What To Dip’ at CMU Art Center, organised by Uncooked Culture www.uncookedculture.com. The exhibition explored the creative uses of the Internet and Social Media, questioning our relationship with raw materials.
